Student of the Month

Mrs Rivera selected Lincoln as student of the month! The principal led a S of the M Zoom assembly this morning and read Mrs Rivera's nomination write up. We don't have her nomination words, but we do have the kind words she emailed us. We celebrated with some mac and cheese for dinner and DQ for dessert.

Reptile Store

We stopped by the new neighborhood reptile store. We didn't (and won't) get anything, rather just stopped by for the free entertainment. The man working was super nice and let us pet the turtles and answered all of our questions. There were a lot of questions.

Vaccination Van

We had a van party for Mom's first vaccine shot. It was the first day that appointments opened up in Arizona for adults 16+. People flooded the Cardinal's stadium trying to get a vaccination without an appointment. That meant that when we arrived 15 minutes early for Mom's appointment time we were stuck in traffic about a mile away. What was supposed to be a 1ish hour round trip turned into a 4 hour adventure. The kids had their tablets and did amazing, enjoying every minute of screen time. Mom almost peed her pants because she made sure to be very well hydrated for the event. About 2 hours in, Mom switched the AC off and opened the windows because the quarter tank they arrived with was dwindling away as they sat there. She was prepared to push the van through the checkpoints in her pee pants if need be. We made it through with just enough gas to get home, a world of relief knowing one shot was done and immense gratitude that Gwen went to the bathroom at Grammy's right before this adventure.

Swim Again

After a year away, both kids were so excited to get back to swim lessons. They did great and celebrated with a hot (barely warm) tub dip with Auntie Holli at Grammy's condo.

GNO

We had a girl's night out with Holli and Grammy! Gwen got her first pedicure, then took a snooze while we drove to the tea store. We checked out some jewelry at Banana Republic, shared an acai bowl at Nektar and then shopped until it got dark at Nordstrom Rack. Gwen got a new swimsuit and some Skye slippers. She even got to do drive thru dinner at Sonic on the way home. She had the best time and was so excited to show off her sparkly toes when she got home.

Idyllwild Frog Songs

I almost forgot about the frogs! Every night as the sun set on our spring break adventure in Idyllwild, the frogs would start their nightly song. 

On the 2nd night Grammy was coming over to the main house area and there was a tiny frog on the outside door handle. She almost grabbed right onto him! Anthony tracked him down for a photo op.

When the storm came in we were worried that the songs would stop. That our frozen friends wouldn't feel like singing. But, not so. They sang on.
